A surgical perspective shaped by training and experience across different countries and surgical schools.

Who Is
Doğuş Yalçın?

After completing my secondary education at Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi and İstanbul Atatürk Fen Lisesi, I began my medical training at İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine, in Çapa.

Following my medical education, I completed my specialist training in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Marmara University.

Throughout my surgical training, I had the opportunity to work at different surgical centres and in different countries, observing and experiencing a range of approaches first-hand.

For me, this process was never only about developing technical skill. Seeing how different surgeons evaluated patients, planned their surgeries, and approached different anatomical challenges played an important role in shaping my own surgical perspective.

My Educational
Journey

From secondary school to specialist training — the academic foundation behind my surgical perspective.

Secondary Education
Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi

I completed a significant part of my secondary education at Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi.

Secondary Education
İstanbul Atatürk Fen Lisesi

Following the period in which my interest in the sciences developed, I continued my education at İstanbul Atatürk Fen Lisesi.

Medical Education
İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine — Çapa

I completed my medical education at İstanbul Faculty of Medicine.

Specialist Training
Marmara University — Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

I completed my specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Marmara University.

Surgical Training
Knows No Borders

During my specialist training, I had the opportunity to closely observe different surgical disciplines and approaches in different countries. Each centre offered me a different perspective on surgery.

Semmelweis University — Budapest

During my medical education, I completed a general surgery internship at Semmelweis University in Budapest. This experience was important in exposing me, early in my interest in surgery, to a different healthcare system and educational environment.

Poland — General Surgery

The general surgery internship I completed in Poland gave me the opportunity to observe a different European surgical school.

Learning From
Different Surgical Schools

During my plastic surgery specialist training, I had the opportunity to work with different surgeons and centres in the United States — developing my experience in particular across four main areas: breast surgery; rhinoplasty and body contouring; facial rejuvenation and facelift; and microsurgery and reconstruction.

Dr. J. Grotting — Birmingham, Alabama

In Birmingham, Alabama, I worked closely with Dr. J. Grotting, focusing in particular on breast surgery. I had the opportunity to closely observe different breast surgery techniques and the importance of tailoring surgical planning to each patient. This experience reinforced the importance of looking at breast aesthetics not only in terms of volume, but together with the rib cage, body proportions, breast tissue, and overall body silhouette.

Dr. Ashkan Ghavami — Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

In Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to work with and observe Dr. Ashkan Ghavami in rhinoplasty, body contouring, fat transfer, and BBL / Brazilian Butt Lift. Here I experienced first-hand the importance of facial and body proportions in aesthetic planning.

Dr. Sherrell Aston — New York

At Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, I had the opportunity to develop my experience in facial rejuvenation and facelift surgery with Dr. Sherrell Aston. I observed that facial ageing is never only about surface-level changes to the skin, but requires the different anatomical layers of the face to be evaluated together.

Dr. J. Rodriguez & NYU Team — New York

At New York University, I had the opportunity to develop my experience with Dr. J. Rodriguez and his team in microsurgical reconstruction, congenital anomalies, and a range of plastic surgery applications. This experience showed me that plastic surgery is never only aesthetic surgery, but also a broad field of expertise concerned with restoring function and repairing lost tissue.

Plastic surgery is a continuously evolving field. For this reason, I do not believe that the learning process ends with the completion of specialist training. I place great importance on keeping my professional practice current by following national and international scientific meetings, surgical developments, and new techniques.

EBOPRAS — European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
European Board Certification (EBOPRAS)
Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

I passed the European Board examination in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and hold the corresponding certification. My EBOPRAS qualification, dated 6 May 2017, appears on the qualification list published by the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

During my specialist training I carried out scientific work and gave presentations at congresses; several of my studies were recognised with awards at professional meetings. I regard scientific output not merely as an academic responsibility, but as an important part of advancing surgical practice.

A Different Plan
for Every Patient

The right patient selection, the right indication, the right planning, and post-operative follow-up together make up the entire process. For this reason, a personalised evaluation process is followed at our clinic from the very first consultation.

First Consultation

First, I listen to you. I try to understand why you have come, what your expectations are, any previous operations you have had, and what matters most to you.

Anatomical Assessment

Rather than looking at a single area of the face or body in isolation, I evaluate that area's place within the overall anatomical structure.

Surgical Planning

Detailed information is provided on the available options, their advantages, their limitations, and the recovery process.

Follow-Up

The recovery process is followed with regular check-ups after surgery. The aim is to plan not just the day of the operation, but the treatment as a whole.

Acıbadem Kartal Hospital

My operations take place at Acıbadem Kartal Hospital, with modern medical infrastructure and international patient standards.
